Love Chapel is a thriving organization that offers food and shelter for those who need it in Columbus, IN and the surrounding Bartholomew County. They came to Amenable looking for a robust brand redesign, wanting to amplify their reach and better demonstrate the massive impact that they have on their community. The main goals of this project were to properly communicate who they are through a fully updated brand and extensive new website.

With Love Chapel being so deeply rooted in the Columbus community, the new logo and subsequent brand was designed to pay homage to the city’s mid-century modern design heritage with bold colors, clean lines, and it’s versatile sans-serif typeface.

The two pieces that make up the heart icon not only align to create a capital “L”, but also represent two entities meeting, with the larger piece showcasing the support that Love Chapel offers and the smaller piece demonstrating the people they serve.

Within the Love Chapel organization existed many sub-brands that all worked toward Love Chapel’s mission in different ways, but lacked a way of distinguishing between them all. Using the form and structure set up by the primary logo suite, we constructed a standardized system of logos that clearly communicate at a glance the distinction between the different sub-brands.

With such a large portion of their clientele being Spanish-speaking individuals, it was essential to carry out the brand in Spanish as well as English.

To fully execute this rebrand through to completion, Amenable was tasked with a full redesign of Love Chapel’s website. Their organization has multiple avenues of entry, whether one is seeking help from their many offered services, wanting to volunteer, learn about Love Chapel’s impact on the community, or make a donation to their cause. Therefore, it was imperative to provide a clear and navigable site to anyone who visited it. To do so, we created two different “pathways” a user could take— one for people seeking Love Chapel’s help, and one for people looking to give help. This division of information created the framework needed to build a robust, yet simple and easy to use website.
